Rely Website

Cookies Notice

Version: published 12 August 2022

Basics

We use cookies and other user recognition technologies, such as web beacons (or clear gifs), on our website (including any web-accessible components of our Issue Management Platform).  We may use persistent cookies and user recognition technologies (which function even after you close your browser) and session cookies and user recognition technologies (which no longer function after you end your browsing session). You might be able to block some of these technologies, such as cookies, by configuring your browser, but that is likely to render you unable to use the Rely Service and may also inhibit your use of the Rely Website.

What Are Cookies?

Traditionally, cookies are small files containing a string of characters which websites store on your computer or mobile device when you access them.  The cookies allow the websites that placed them to recognise your browser. Cookies may store your preferences and other information but cannot read other data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

What Are Web Beacons and Other Recognition Technologies?

These days there are other technologies that perform similar functions as cookies, such as web beacons.  Web beacons are small non-functional images on websites which serve a similar function of identifying users and their behaviour on websites. And social media company sharing or login functions that appear on websites also operate in a similar way and often enable the social media company that provides that function to identify users and their behaviour across websites.   In the rest of this policy, when we refer to cookies we mean traditional cookies, web beacons and any other technologies that perform similar functions of recognising your browser or device, to the extent we know they do that on our site.

Consenting and Withdrawing Consent

When you first access our services, you will receive a message advising you that cookies or similar technologies are in use.  By clicking “accept cookies” you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the use of these technologies as described in this Cookie Policy.

You do not have to accept cookies and consent can be withdrawn at any time, although you may not be able to use certain features of our services.  You can do this by clicking the appropriate opt-out provided in the cookie table or by activating the settings in your browser that allow you to refuse all or some cookies:

Cookies from Our Site

The cookies from our site are either provided by us (first party cookies) or are provided by other parties (third party cookies) and fall into five broad categories: strictly necessary cookies; performance and functionality cookies; analytical cookies; targeting cookies and social media cookies.

The specific types of first party and third party cookies placed by our services, why they are used and the purposes they perform, and how you can manage them are described in the table below.  (The details about third party cookies are included to the best of our knowledge, but that knowledge might not be complete or up to date, especially when it comes to recognition technologies other than traditional cookies and recognition technologies that do not require the storage of any data on user’s devices, such as browser fingerprinting.)
